Hi,

I recently bought this:
E8400
Asus P5Q-Pro
Sunbeam Core Contact 4
2x2GB Muskin XP PC2-8000 Redline 5-5-5-12

This is my first Core2 and first time overclocker... I need some help with my overclock please. I managed to hit 3.9GHz @ 1.352v with temps around 50-55 Celcius 100% Load.
Multiplier: x9
FSB: 433
..Everything else it at Auto.

However when I'm running Orthos after a couple of mins it give me this error:

"FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4"

What should I do? Should I keep increasing my CPU voltage? Maybe it's releated to the ram? What timing should I use for my memory?

Thanks

loosen your memory timings, increase NB voltage, oc your ram, not sure how much higher i'd go on the vcore...there's a lot of things you can try.

Always run the memory 1:1 with loose timings and the manufacturer recommended voltage until you get your CPU overclock completely stable. If you RAM is fully within spec and you're getting errors, it's probably the CPU.

Hi. Thanks for the tips

However I'm still having problems with my ram... I ran a Small FFTS test with Orthos last night (all night long) at 3870Mhz @ 1.352v without any problems... But now I've tried running a Blend test to test out my RAM but if fails each time running it.

So I ran a blend test all at default settings, and everything was fine.

Now I'm using theses settings:

FSB: 430
Multi: 9x
Core Voltage: 1.392v
CPU PLL: 1.5v
FSB Term: 1.3v
NB Voltage: 1.3v
Memory: 6-6-6-18 @ 2.1v (1:1) instead of 5-5-5-12
Performance level: 10
DRAM Voltage: 2.1
This is the ram I have:
http://www.ncix.com/products/i...93&manufacture=MUSHKIN

I don't know what to do anymore...

I have my E8400 O.Clocked to 4Ghz (445 X 9) slight more Vcore (1,385), same timings, and have the same problem with Orthos.- However my system is absolutely stable, and I can play games all day without problems.- So forget all that tests and try your system in real conditions.-
