Recently my 7900gt went haywire and now I need a replacement card. I only have a small budget to work with so my choices are limited. I would like something with comparable performace to my 7900gt. I'm a fairly avid gamer and am running a monitor with 1600x1200 resolution. I would like to be able to game at this res. with decent frames and eyecandy. Here are some cards im considering.

x1950gt- $129.99 Here

7900gs- $154.99 - $20MIR Here

8600gt-$136.99 Here

Any suggestions as to which card would best suit my needs would be helpful, as well as any other cards in the $150 price range that may be a better choice than these I have selected would be appreciated.

Edit: I'd also like to mention that I plan to overclock whichever card I get. So, please take that into consideration.

Thanx for the reply, I was under the impression that the gt was basically a pro with lower clock speeds.....if this is true couldnt I save some money and just overclock the gt?

The X1950 Pro doesn't have much overclocking headroom from what I've heard. Still, in the worst case, it's $30 for a "guaranteed overclock" (in a manner of speaking), and you may end up spending that $30 on an aftermarket cooler anyway if you're overclocking the GT. I'd go GT + aftermarket cooler considering these things may be loud. YMMV.

Don't know if this is allowed in this forum, but I was going to put up my x1900gt in the for sale section tomorrow.

I game at 1680x1050 and it does a good job on most things I throw at it.
