Need Some Help Choosing A Budget & Right Graphics Card : )

Well a GTX 560 Ti looks to be well out of your budget. I'd go for the GTX 460 V2 I linked or the used 5870 above. $135 is a really good price -- it's almost exactly the same performance as the $190 (after rebate) 6950 or the $240 7850.

Oh, I see you want to play Battlefield. If you don't have the game yet you might want to consider this 6950 -- it comes with BF3.

That savings puts it on par with the used 5870 for price/performance.

For the 135 US$ area you might as well go with either 6850 or 7770.
While if you are around the 220$ you should invest another 20$ to get a real deal 7850, currently the local celebrity card.

1. I AM getting a 7770. lol.

2. I ask the questions now because I've never built a system before, will be my first one and sure, things will change in 4 months, but not the parts Im buying, lol. most likely the parts I want will get cheaper. I don't need any better than the parts that are out there right now today as far as a Intel build is concerned.

3. I am also waiting because I want to see AMD's Trinity, and the reviews come out and such.


A lot of people plan early and it helps me get a budget in check too for how much I really need to spend. Ive also learned a lot of things here in the past few days from people.

It should have a nice balance between CPU and GPU performance... while at the same time, sip very little power. Might not be strong enough for your games, however. Time will tell soon

I'd be getting the unlocked best Trinity processor first off no doubt. 3.8Ghz A10

Secondly, it doesn't need to game well. If it did all my other tasks I need a processor to do without lag or a hitch & be snappy, I'd take it over Intel because it would save me a good $160+ dollars.

You wont be gaming on trinity with a 1080 LCD...period, in point of fact, you will struggle with the 7770 which will be quicker than trinity!

7770 is a pretty strong and good card for the "casual" gamer on a 1080P LCD or under and it will be great for you and you will be happy with it. Further IMO the 7770 or a card of similar caliber should be standard fair in any entry level gaming rig or decent all around OEM PC because it can play any game out today most with reduced settings but still decent @ 1080P is quite and consumes low power while not creating much heat at all.

Why is $130 a bad deal for a 560 SE that is faster than a 7770

Definitely do not go with that card. Why the heck would you link to a GTX 560 SE at $137 when a GTX 460 V2 is the same GF114 chip, but it has 336 cores running at 820-860MHz vs the GTX 560 SE's 288 cores at 776MHz, they have the exact same memory bus but the GTX 460's runs 200MHz higher, and the GTX 460 is cheaper after rebate?

Hey, I tried looking on newegg for the GTX 460 V2, but it's deactivated and I guess they dont make it anymore and newegg is sold out. Did they make a current version of this card for the same price and value or no?

It's a good card card I think v2 has a 192bit memory bus vs the v1 256bit memory bus
