Hey guys,

I need help choosing a nice little budget graphics card. I don't really game, and I may play 2 or 3 games in the future and I don't think I need no 100 FPS stuff, lol. I just want one because who wants to be stuck with integrated graphics, right? lol.

There is a slight problem with the motherboard I want and a graphics card.

From reviews, one person said this on the motherboard I am interested in - "The PCI-E 1x slot is covered if your GPU is big, which I used to fix it by moving my soundcard into a 16x slot to fix it, which it didn't like at all. Luckily I just moved the GPU down a slot and it adapted to the slot change and everything's working great."

heres a link to the motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...scrollFullInfo

I was recommended that motherboard by a few people, not sure if I need to change it due to this?

Anyway, the graphics card I've been recommended before was - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161377

If anyone has thoughts to my motherboard issue and the graphics card and can make any suggestions, feel free and it would help a lot. Thanks! : )

There is no motherboard issue unless you have a few add-in cards.

I would just grab a 7770 for a non-really-gaming computer. Newer capabilities, lower power, & cheaper.

Edit: 6850 vs 7770 the 6850 isn't much better (if at all).

What games?

What monitor resolution?

What is your CPU?

i.e. pay attention to the stickied threads before posting

hey, okay.

1. No games in particular. Im not even a big gamer on my computer but if I wanted to play 2 or 3 games, know what I mean? Like Dirt or Battlefield, the new Grand Theft Auto 5

2. My CPU will either be the i5 2500K or i5 3570K. I've heard that the sandy bridge overclocks a bit better with less heat but the new ivy bridge has the better integrated graphics. So it's a toss up. Not sure yet.

3. I dont have a monitor yet but for ADEQUATE gaming, not the best crazy settings, but good gaming, whatever I need for that. It will be a 27 inch monitor though.

thank you. : )

YES, Ive been told to go with this card too. It looks very nice. But I was also told to go with the "TI" version?

Thank you. : )
You will not find a 560ti for you budget but the 560SE is a great budget card and there is quit a gap in performance between the two.

I have a 5870 for sale. Not trying to derail your thread, but for $135 shipped it will take a dump on that 560 SE.

Will you provide a minimum three years warranty on that 5870 plus shipping insurance otherwise I would never consider it.

Yeah, Im sure it's a great card at a good price but for my first build, I'd prefer to buy everything new, lol. Sorry. Thank you though adam_the_giant. : )

Ok. 27 inch monitors come in 1080p and 2560x1440, I assume you're not looking to spend a fortune so you're probably going to get a 1080p TN panel. HD6850, HD6870 or GTX560 will be sufficient for playable framerates on medium settings on 1080p. Some less demanding games will allow you to play on the highest settings, while the most uber demanding games will be laggy even at medium.

Well, I have the monitor in mind I want. I'm kind of deadset about it. I've talked to a few people and they all said it was a very nice monitor.

For that price, wouldn't it be better to get a 24" IPS screen? IPS is much nicer in terms if image quality, color reproduction, brightness/contrast, viewing angles. I'd recommend Dell U2412M, I think you'd like it more than a 27" TN panel with no height adjustment. The resolution is also 1920x1200 which gives you a bit more vertical space. It's still good for gaming.

I'd also recommend you a 7770. Should be more than enough for occasional gaming and it's very low power.

Why Crysis 2? Seems cherry-picked favourably to 7770. On average, 560 Ti is 42% faster, not 6% slower:

Do you have any links to a few for me? Thank you. : )

- EVGA 01G-P3-1464-KR GeForce GTX 560 SE

Please don't quote the same post twice, especially if it contains a large image. There's an edit button in the lower right corner of your post, use it.

Here's the whole review http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Powercolor/HD_7770/

Thanks for that. I will remember that also so I don't do it again.

Right now it's all about 3 cards from suggestions so far.

- 560 TI
- EVGA 01G-P3-1464-KR GeForce GTX 560 SE
- 7770
