im looking at a 2000 subaru rs 2.5, it's got 60,000 miles on it already. so.. in 4 years, it put an average of 15,000/a year. the average mileage for a car is 12,000.

should i be worried with buying a car with so much mileage? people been telling me that modern cars are really reliable and i shouldn't worry.

i just don't to bring my car into the shop all the time, what do you guys think?

Don't worry about it. Subarus are good cars - just check it over well and make sure it doesn't have problems to start with.

And BTW, the average mileage/year for a car was raised from 12k/year to 15k/year several years ago. Of course, these are just averages and don't really matter much...

lots of miles usually means that the car was highway driven; definitely a good thing. city driving is horrible for cars since they never get to just run. stop. go. stop. go. you get the picture.
