i'll assume sata II is better.

and if i order 2 sticks of the corsair VS wouldn't there be a good chance they will be identical?

Doesnt matter if you get SATA II or ATA100, the hard drive speed(7200 rpm) is the bottleneck anyway.

Just go with a SATA HD.

Dual Channel works with any memory sticks that are put in the right slots and are the same capacity and style (1GB DDR)

You should be fine in that department.

Also, the San Diego 1MB Cache would have an advantage, and you won't really have to upgrade for a while. The only downside is that when 1MB Cache Dual Cores get cheaper, you will want to get one probably.

Up to you, though I plan on gettin a 3200+

ok guys we are getting near the end :) I should look for an atx mid tower right? I don't know what brands to look at. I want something good quality, not fancy, no leds, no front cover. beige or silverish blue or something nice and simple like that. Don't need windows. plan on buying this PSU if the case doesnt come with a good one

FSP Group (Fortron Source) AX450-PN ATX12V 450W Power Supply - $49.50

That's a great PSU! Could you plz post all the parts you've chosen now so I can get an idea of how much money you have left for a case?

I suggest you spend more on the PSU, or you could just ditch the PSU and get a Antec Sonata II (comes with a high-quality 450W PCIe compatible PSU and is a very quiet case.) and why is that HDD so expensive...you can get a 250GB 7000.8 Seagate for $10 more... On newegg there is some dual channel PQi memory for $185

Sata 2 has a higher theoretical speed than sata 1 but there is no if any real world diffrence...so i suggest you get the better bang for you buck.

I'm not sure about the memory, i think the sticks have to be identical, why risk it just buy them in the same package.

We're not saying the ram won't work, but you'd be safer just not risking it and buying a 2 gb pack. You don't "need" small accesories, but they are awfully nice :) Example: Zalman VF700CU GPU cooler, Dropped my 6600GT from Idle 56 Load 78, to Idle 43 Load 53. And I can also get mad overclocks with it too. From 500/1000 (default), to 611/1255 for a 3dmark05 score of 4055. Much better than the stock 3700 I was getting.
