Alaska pays teachers pretty good. And the PERS (public employees retirement system) is generally well regarded.

what are you talking about? it all depends on the area, and i know for fact that in most cases private school teachers make significantly more. i have a friend who teaches at a private school, and he makes about 50-80% more than he would at a public school. and he only has a bachelor's degree straight out of university. he told me pretty much all of the private schools around San Diego area pays quite a bit more than public schools.

Here in CA. ,private school teachers make significantly more, have better security and benefits.
