I need an analog to digital converter, so I can easily connect my Gamecube to my reciever.
Right now, I have my GC/PS2/Xbox connected to my reciever using analog RCA, since I only have 1 optical input.
So I have to use 2 switches right now; an analog s-video/RCA switchbox, and switching my reciever to Video2 for analog. My HTPC is connected to the optical.
I'd like to get down to 1 switch that can handle s-video and optical digital switching. I already have one in mind.

Now, I've found this, but does anybody know of anything that only does audio? Or maybe a switch box that can upconvert analog inputs to a digital output?

Thanks

You have ONE digital input? Man that's kindof sad for any receiver. I'd say a switch like the Pelican shown here would work best. Btw you do know that you are not going to get Dolby Digital sound by doing this conversion right? As a matter of fact you are most definitely not getting the most soundwise out of your Xbox.

Thanks for your help, nsafreak.
It's an entry-level Onkyo. It's got one optical, and one coaxial, and I'm using the optical for my HTPC. Soundcards don't seem to use Coax outputs for some reason. I guess I should have made it clearer I want the converter only for my Gamecube, since it doesn't have a digital output natively. The 'Cube is the odd-man-out, both the Xbox/PS2 and my HTPC all have optical out, and all would be connected to the switch with optical cables.
Do you know if that Pelican switch can ouput from teh RCA inputs over the optical connector?

THanks

Yea, but after the SBLive, I refuse to give any business the Creative's soundcard division. I ultimately want an HDA X-mystiq for my HTPC. But this is getting kinda OT.

That does coax too if you didn't know.

I don't know if you'd be into this idea, but rather than having a bunch of different switch boxes, you could just invest in a nicer receiver with more inputs...
