My PSU went bang, and flashed.


I'm looking for a replacement, the one i just took out is 480w (xilence)

This is the system spec as far as i can remember:


asus p5q pro mobo

DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 cpu

Sapphire RADEON HD 3650 gpu

4 HDDS

dvd drive

6144 MB DDR2-800 ram (4 sticks total)

quite a few system fans

Huh. Your system doesn't consume more than around 200W at load. This is a good example of what can happen with a crap power supply - it will fail even at a seemingly light load, and when it fails it goes down with a bang.
