I need some advice here, my PS, (an Antec 450 trupower) borked out on me after six months of use, took forever to diagnose my problem. During games the comp would crash to black screen but sound and all that would work, at first I thought my Video card was overheating X1900Xt by Sapphire, until that is I touched the PS, it was FLAMING HOT, I am happy I did not start a fire or anything, I burned myself pretty painfully with just a touch.
Questions:
1. Did I damage the rest of my system: C2D on a DS3, 2 Gb XMS2 DDR2 800, 1x150 Raptor, XT1900XT, the computer would work fine as long as I didn?t play any games?.so I am hoping the power just dipped under load and didn?t short anything. (it even ran prime 95 for 24 hours stable on both procs)
2. Replacement PS? Any recommendation? I was looking at the Galaxy 1000 only because is it like 100$ bucks off right now.
