First off ill tell you my specs of my current PC I use for Gaming under CS:Source

CPU: AMD 2500+ XP with a Barton Core
RAM: Unsure who makes it but pc-3200
Video: Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb
SB LIVE! 5.1 PCI soundcard
all of that on a nForce2 mobo made by chaintech

just the basics on there dont need to know to much more about it sept that im running it clocked at 1.9ghz could go higher and still run under 50C

And my question to you guys on this forum is what do you recommend if you recommend at all for good upgrades without spending a whole bunch of money.. im on a budget because I will be traveling to Texas June 6th for Summer CPL, and if any of you know its the biggest tournament in the United States for CS. I keep telling my self that my computer is fine but what i have been told is that my Processor would not be able to keep up with my video card making it not go to its full potential.

Im in class now so Im gonna have to split but if you could leave some advice about how to get the most FPS out of my current video card or do you recommend a upgrade to like a 6600 GT or something under 200ish.

Thanks Guys

Personally I wouldn't change anything but that's just me. I'm frugal with upgrades and don't play in any tournaments. ;)

Your comp is still pretty good... if you want to ride your current that platform to the end. I say... get an XP 3200+ CPU and a GB of Ram if you don't already have a GB. The video card is still good and I would wait until the next set of video cards coming out this year and skip the current high end. You may even want to skip this years cards and go for the WGF2 cards that hit in 2006. That way your comp should be Longhorn/dx10 capable.

I would leave it, I don't think the increase to go to a XP3000 or 3200 would be worth the $, save it until time to upgrade to 64chip

DDR400 ram speed is nice... but you could have DDR600 but it wouldn't really help if you only had say 256mb.... So.. complete specs??? how MUCH ram? :p

Right now im making about 250-350 every 2 weeks for my paychecks. basically right now i have about 120 until next monday.

i actually have 512 of ram and i was thinking about getting a GB of GEIL pc 3200 ram. about 100 bucks from newegg pretty decent for budget and i heard they are a pretty good brand for ram.

To you guys have any clock speeds i should run my Video card on? i know within the omega drivers i can tweak it......
