hi,
i have an enlight7237 case.
In the front (lower half) i have a 1.6w slow intake sunon, on the back i mounted the 2.1w sunon (39cfm at 2900rpm).
My cpu has an alpha8045 with an sunon 39cfm on it, blowing to the side panel of the case.
I usually run cpu 40 idle/ 48 load....case always like 28/29.
Oberservation:
When i open the side panel, tilting it slightly so there are some big gaps on the side (front/back)i get approx. 3 degrees HIGHER temps than with a closed side panel !
That's very weird since i expected to get drastically dropped temps...but the opposite is the case !
Well...my case side panel has this grid..and i am asking if it may be better to close the grid (with aluminum foil etc.) to get a better airflow thru the case ? Would it be a good idea to close the grid/case and only have the intake/blow fans ?
Another observation....i had two more of these 2900 rpm sunon fans...(like the one blowing out at the back and the one on the cpu).....and i used one of these for better intake in the front..but it was *freaking* load...so i had to put in the slower sunon again, i just couldnt handle the noise since the front fan is right in front of my face basically.
My goal is:
A very good airflow in the case providing max. cooling for my peripherals, esp. the gfx card which seems to overheat quite easily (radeon 8500 retail).
I am also wondering if maybe panaflos would be better than the sunons 2900rpms in terms of noise.
From the specs they're about the same (all 32db) while the panaflos are *slightly* better (39cfm sunon, 39.6cfm panaflo), but the panas are kinda pricier.
