No. 4-way intersection. Imagine this set-up: He is initially going North, making a turn on a protected green, after the turn he will be headed West. The woman is heading East, runs her red light and hits him in the driver's side as he is part-way through his turn.

Exact same described situation ... it's like subtitles for my pic! :Q

I fail to see how there is any wiggle room for this woman. If he had a green light, her light had to be red. So, she ran the light and hit him while he was making a legal left. She's at fault, end of story. It'd be different if she were heading South in Zem's setup as there would be a right-of-way issue, but that's not the case.

It was a four way intersection, making left turn on green, which prohibits any car coming from east or west to stop because the light would be red. The insurance company basically doesn't give a damn about this.

She changed her story couple times but she is still denying it is her fault. Our insurance company is saying it's her word against ours (WTF?!?!). I'm going to have to hire an attorney.

That is total BS. If the cop gave her the ticket (I'm assuming he did) then she's at fault. Period.

I don't get how it ISN'T that old fart's fault... she should have had the presence of mind to stop or slow down while the car was making the turn.

I've seen lots of wonderful doofuses try to make a turn AFTER their light was red and opposing traffic has been green for a few seconds. I've already started moving forward and they COULD stop before they hit the intersection but NO... they need to hold ALL traffic while they make their illegal turn.

Either way, she knows the truth and I'd love to see her squirm if you were able to subject her to a lie detector test. It seems that she prolly doesn't want to lose her license either over this. It would be too embarrassing and the lost of mobility and pride is too much for a lot of people to take.

I'm glad that your dad's ok... imagine if was some tank of an SUV hitting the drivers side :Q

Thanks. It was actually me and my brother that were involved in the accident. She knows its her fault and having same insurance company doesn't help either.

I can't believe this.

Anybody else have this problem, where you are the victim in the accident but is basically getting screwed by the stupid driver?

Hm, where the hell did I get 'turning right' from...

All those witnesses just drove around while you laid out in the intersection?

And Zenmervolt, a cookie for you is most warranted in-deed. If you know how to write, then you should at least try to be somewhat intellectual about it. Other than to act like a rejected 5th grade special ed student, reading out of a English book.

get a lawyer.
best advice u could take.

on the other hand, i am suprised gthere are so many serious replies!!!! 😀

In lieu of a lie-detector test, just ask her lots of questions with plenty of chances to contradict herself. Don't let on that you're mentally logging things - just let her stack up the BS until it's at about neck-level on her, then ask the clerk to repeat a few lines.

"So you were coming west. Or was it east? Or west again? Do you do nothing but drive back and forth through that intersection until you hit someone?"

Wow, whats with the lying coldcut? I can't tell if you are telling the truth or not.. No surprise as to why the insurance company doesn't believe you.

What the hell is your problem troll? All you do is threadcrap in every single one of my threads. If your life sucks, go end it now. Don't troll and make yourself feel better.

Since I don't see any "lying" in this thread, I'm going to have to go ahead and ask you to STFU, kthxbye.

You do the same sh!t to me, except in other's threads. I don't start pointless threads all the time. My life is great actually, thanks for the concern.

Family member got into an accident. He was making a left turn on green and was hit by old lady on the driver side of his car. The old lady was going straight and ran a red light.

The police report says that I was making a left on the green light (protects me from oncoming cars my left and right) and she says the light was yellow when she ran it.

Are you and your brother the same person?

Him and his brother, his brother driving, therefore him being the one under question, and coldcut being able to provide such an accurate description of the situation.

STFU no0b.

"I" in this case likely referring to the car, not the person. Coldcut/lager please confirm/deny some of this already. 😛

- M4H

Come on, seriously, do you believe what you are saying? 😀

More like WE're turning left... coldcut says, and I quote, "the police report says I was making a left". Why does it matter what the passenger was doing?

I wouldn't be saying "we" if the driver doesn't matter worth a fsck to the person I'm talking to. It's a lot easier for coldcut to write "I" instead of "my brother" however many times, and given that he is a member and his brother is not, there's at least some degree of relation there between us<->ATOT<->him. Adding in the fraternal bond is just one more degree of separation.
