okay i just got an opteron 165 1.8Ghz and i buying Asus A8R-MVP motherboard and taking out my x1800xl from 2nd comp to and hooking it to the new one. I haven't been keeping update to ram. SO i want to buy 1GB DDR ram that will handle my CPU overclock from 1.8 GHz to 2.6 GHz. It needs to have low latency and should cost below $200USD. So what ram do you guys recommend :?

What I am thinking of buying at the moment :

OCZ PC3500 Gold Gamers eXtreme XTC Edition 1GB Kit [2x512Mb) DDR433 CL2-2-2-5 OCZ4331024ELGEGXT-K

corsair twinx2048-3500LL PRO.
guaranteed to go 2-3-2-6 1T at 218 MHz. careful reading f reviews shows it will usually overclock to 250 MHz 2.5-3-3-6 at 1T, 2.85v
best of luck
ps - sticks are physically big, so be careful

low latency in your price range would be 2x512 mushkin redline. i think they are in tyour range

they are probably the best low latency ram out

did you hit the search button at all? Haven't you check what people have on their signatures? You have 500+ plus I'm sure you had seen quite a few postings about memory for opteron.

but I would go with Samsung chips.

ballistix is only $120 for 2 x 512

best ram you can buy cause it can do multiple things.. all 1T

like

2-2-2 up to about 215

2.5-2-2 up to about 240

2.5-3-3 up to about 275

It's also the fastest ram compared to others @ 2-2-2 200 according to at/

If you want samsung TCCD this is where it's at for $138
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220033

it's also runs low latency 2-2-2 up to about 210

does'nt do so well in the middle frequencies like needs 3-3-3 but will clock a little higher.. like 300Mhz.
