Ok, my current setup:

MB: Asus P4P800SX
CPU: 2.4ghz p4
Ram: 1 gig ddr..i think

Not to rebuild a whole system, where can I get more "ooomph" into my pc? The MB holds up to 2 gigs I believe but I think I need to replace all the memory as it needs to be a certain type to go up to 2 gigs.

The MB can go up to 3.6 gig p4, I saw a 3.0 for 70 bucks or so - but how much is that going to help me. One thing I noticed when I get my computer info (right click on my computer and hit properties), it says the following:

Pentrium(R) 4 CPU 2.00 GHz
2.40 GHz, 1.00 GB Ram

Why does it say 2.0 ghz and then 2.4? I belive when I bought it was 2.4 but maybe the pc is not using the entire CPU??

Maybe the mobo is downclocking the CPU? Never really seen this before. Odd...
Anyways, from a 2.0 to a 3.0GHz processor is going to be a definite boost. However, the problem will be that whatever faster processor you get, it'll most likely be a Prescott. Those run quite hot, so make sure you have adequate cooling.

I would only upgrade the CPU, IF anything.

BTW, Is your 2.4GHz P4 a 400, 533 or 800 FSB model?
What speed is your DDR rated for?

Its a 533 i believe, I can go up to 800 per MB specs. The ram I believe is pc3200?? but I'm not sure about that..
