With the recent sell of Pixar to Disney, I wanted to have a little piece of history for my son, so I ordered a single share of Pixar stock from Oneshare.com. So yesterday, I get a letter from Disney saying that I need to sign over my stock certificate and hand it over to them so they can replace it with a Disney stock certificate...or

My choices:

1) Sign over the certificate and get 2 shares of Disney stock + 0.3 shares worth of cash.

2) Lie under notary signature that the stock certificate is lost, damaged, and unsigned, then keep the Pixar stock certificate and get a Disney stock certificate "replacement" for $1.30.

3) Keep the Pixar stock certificate (do nothing basically) and risk having the share of stock turned over to the State and unclaimed property.

The thing that miffs me is that I paid extra to have the stock certificate issued, and the share of stock is electronically registered in my name; so why should I have to surrender a piece of paperwork that isn't neccessary in the first place? Do I have any other options I'm not aware of or any legal recourse which would allow me to keep the Pixar stock certificate?
