Need software for my new computer

I'm gonna get my computer built tomorrow and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend me any kind of software I would need. This includes anything that will test your hardware to make sure everything is running, or anything that will optimize or is recommended to have. I already know which Spyware/Antivirus programs to get though.
