Need Serious Help

alright I just finished building my rig, and fnally turned it on.
it posted
cpu temp was 33 and the other temp was 40

I did my thing in the bios, NO overclocking at all, just changing boot setup, etc etc
I went to install windows and halfway through windows I get the BSOD.

3 times I did this, last computer restart, i took out the WinXP and looked at the magic pc temp and there it was, 102 C cpu temp!

so:

I need help troubleshooting why WIN isnt installing and why I just recieved 102c temp and worried if the proc is now dmg
as i previusly stated in another post, I had fought the ninja sycthe for 30mins and was worried a air bubble might have been trapped. I did examine the area around the cpu and the copper base without lifting the heatsink and there was no splurge anywhere which is good.

pls some help, thank you.

alright I just Rebooted my comp:
cpu temp: 44-47
system temp 30-31

another update.. my temps are slowly rising

check if your HSF is properly seated. fan spinning? thermal paste in place? fan blowing in the right direction? sounds like overheating CPU due to malfunctioning HSF

this is exaxtly how i installd AS5 and HS.

cpu in mobo, closed lever, I than grabbed the Ninja and hooked the first 2 of the same side into the clip.
than I have an acute angle with the posititoning of the HS and that is when I applied HALF my pinky nail size of the AS5.
Than I went to clip the 3rd hook without a problem.
the 4th hook took me 30 mins.. I kepy applying pressure on the HS which at one point I did to much that the 3rd hook popped out.
When that 3rd hook popped, the HS also jumped. Therefor, I assume is when I had caught some air bubbles.
I kept "twisiting" a bit trying to get the 4th hook in Until my cousin walked by and I had him hold down the HS while I use my 2 hands to get the last hook in.

well, my fans arent working.. they are the default fan with no 3-4 pins just the molex which i connectd to the PSU but its not turning on..

things I need to troubleshoot:

CPU temp
System Temp
Rear and Top Fans
NEC optical drive not being read
Windows XP not installing
Mouse not working but active

GET THE FAN RUNNING, OR REPLACE THE FAN WITH ANOTHER ONE

there

i figure it couldnt be the fan though.
There are other cases that dont have fan and relies on the HeatSink.. the temp still shouldnt be that high on stock 4400 x2.

nonetheless, how do I get the fan to work?
its only a molex cable with the 4 holes which I connected them to the Power Supply.

your heatsink NEEDS its fan running to function.

and i think you should read your CPU's or mobo's instruction manual. they should tell you where to connect the fan.

HSF = HEAT SINK FAN. heatsink needs its fan. not case fan.

get pliers and a flat head more to flat head first put down the clips equely at a time like one corner then the next corner then the next corner not right side then left side then it will be poping out side ways or diging in ur cpu ur probly not puting the clips to atach equely corner then corner try that. and is the max cpu temp for the x2's 65C? or so 102C wow. well try what i said.

also did u buy the cpu oem

alright, the manual doesnt say anything about the fans but advises if you are using a fan controller, it needs a certain amount of volts to work for the fans. that is all.

I just looked up the heatsink he has Ninja Scythe its fanless with an optional 120mm fan hook up. thats why it has a psu conector other then a 3 pin.

wooooww I just read somthing saying that theres a big defect with that HS "

No fan: Without a fan, and with the motherboard sitting horizontal on the test bench, the CPU hit >70°C in 20 minutes and the system froze at some point beyond that. This might seem an instant dismissal of Scythe's claims about the Ninja being an effective fanless heatsink, but it really is not. The Ninja will do better with the motherboard oriented vertically so that its fins are running perpendicular to level."

so i will replace that HS

screensaver, we arent talking about the optional fan that comes with the Ninja but my CASE fans that has the psu connectors.
those arent turning on

there are alot of users and reviews that praises the Ninja... I want to give this HS a chance and get the case fans working

trying to figure out the issue, it can be case fan, it can be air buble from the AS5, it can be a defective HS....

wow fanless for that cpu...... 120C sorry to say but you might of just messed up your processor above 60-65C is damaging.

w00t, lol the second it rebooted I saw that # and autoamtically turned it off.
than 10 min later I rebooted and it was back to 40 and slowly going up, it still posted so....
but since than I havent turned it on until i get all the feedbacks

what about that post? you want me to unistall the HS?
well I normally dont have issues with HS, I use a flathead or a small ranch that acts like my flathead to push it down.. but this one game me a run for my money.

roflmao i got the fan case working, apparently they got disconnected from the backside of my case when i was doing the cable management.
So upon closing the door with a bit of force, it unplug them.
I got them in now, temp started at 30 but still rising though.
currently at 36

okay temp is stable at 41-43 it keep dropping and rising.
tying to install win, it freezing on me or BSOD or once i get the screen, keyboard and mouse wont work than

owww sh!t wow you made of sucsessfuly ruind your cpu. is it oem were did you get it form you out and you probly voided your warenty whne you put your own thermal past amd says that only amd certicfied wont viod and diff cr!p

well if you bought it from newegg get it cleaned veryy well and say ity was DOA

alright, i got it working now., restarted again and i saw my temp at 35c... apparently the raptor HDD I bought from the other user had unistall everything but windows, so gonna format it.

alright im also getting a floppy error.. I thought I installed it right, here is a pic:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage...ter%20W/FD%20(Black)INTERNAL%20-%20OEM

I dont have that black cable connected to anything though, but I do the psu connected in it and the IDE floppy cable connected...
what am I suppose to do with that cable? its oem so i have no clue.

my cpu, gtx, dell 2405 and raptor came from this forum.

everythign seems perfect now... I dont know what my normal TEMP should be at... with 2 fans on HIGH plus the Ninja on a antec p180...
what should my TEMP BE????
