I have xfire on my pc but i don't use it.

EDIT: okay, i've uninstalled xfire (i suppose that is what you were getting at) I've uninstalled the game, completely cleaned out the registry of all Guitar hero 3 related files, reinstalled the game. All to no avail.

how did you clean the registry?
did you try installing something other than GH3, after uninstalling both again and recleaning the system using ccleaner.

I just ran regedit and cleaned all of aspyr/guitar hero stuff out. Currently i don't have any of my discs to install something else.

EDIT: I just downloaded ccleaner, I'm going to uninstall, use ccleaner then reinstall, correct?

yes, you'll have to make a few passes wih both the cleaner option and the registry option till they can both run a pass without any errors.

Yeah i noticed with the registry cleaning. I clicked it and it was a mess of errors, so i fixed them and decided to run it again and found more, so i just ran it until there were no more. The normal cleaner takes a little longer so im browsing the forums while it runs its course. I really hope this works :( K, reinstalling now. I'll post back with results.

EDIT: All of this work to absolutely no avail. Still fails after I do everything..... I hate my PC

is it giving the same error as in your OP?

oh, and it's not your pc, seems a lot of people are having issue with that game, so sounds like a software issue then, I'd contact them about why their software is erroring out on you.

you're not running any patches on it, correct?

seems noones gotten an answer back from the GH3 PC makers on this and since it's so widespread and not tied to any hardware, I'd suggest you contact the game manufacturer for assistance.

Care to share the link where you're getting this info. Much appreciated. I might just reinstall windows, since i remembered that i did have a burnt copy on my pc just in case i needed to reinstall. My computer has been acting up so much lately that i thing it will be for the best.
