Need replacement CPU fan for Duron processor

I have no idea what I am looking for size wise. But I do plan to install it myself. I've done it before. Can I get a little help on finding a replacement?

I have a p4 system so I can't recommend a specific cpu fan. However I can say avoid getting a cheapo model even if you don't overclock. I went through all this hassle with a cheap Speeze heatsink/fan that just didn't sit properly in my mounting bracket (didn't even make contact with the cpu) making my system overheat and shutdown every time.

ou need a socket A cooler. The Speeze Falconrock IS a good fan, and fairly quiet.

Duron is easy to cool, this is more than enough.

he should list the mobo at least to determine what'll fit as even those narrower base types have fitment issues on OEM/older mobos ..

Dapunisher, that is fine, but the Speeze is 25 dba, and the Coolermaster you linked just says "less than 30"

4db=BFD in my book, but the Speeze does have a good price tag for the cooling It's overkill but the "better to have it" addage makes it a better value@$16 shipped from da egg I'd have to agree. I rarely check newegg for cooling since they tend to be higher than SVC after shipping in most cases yet the rock looks to be a good deal.

I honestly dont know the motherboard, i think its a cheap ECS mobo from back in the day. Dunno if that helps

Edit: Do i really need a new heatsink if its just the fan that is going?

Nope, you can just replace the fan.
