I have no idea what I am looking for size wise. But I do plan to install it myself. I've done it before. Can I get a little help on finding a replacement?

I have a p4 system so I can't recommend a specific cpu fan. However I can say avoid getting a cheapo model even if you don't overclock. I went through all this hassle with a cheap Speeze heatsink/fan that just didn't sit properly in my mounting bracket (didn't even make contact with the cpu) making my system overheat and shutdown every time.

ou need a socket A cooler. The Speeze Falconrock IS a good fan, and fairly quiet.

he should list the mobo at least to determine what'll fit as even those narrower base types have fitment issues on OEM/older mobos ..:)

Dapunisher, that is fine, but the Speeze is 25 dba, and the Coolermaster you linked just says "less than 30"

4db=BFD in my book, but the Speeze does have a good price tag for the cooling :) It's overkill but the "better to have it" addage makes it a better value@$16 shipped from da egg I'd have to agree. I rarely check newegg for cooling since they tend to be higher than SVC after shipping in most cases yet the rock looks to be a good deal.

I honestly dont know the motherboard, i think its a cheap ECS mobo from back in the day. Dunno if that helps

Edit: Do i really need a new heatsink if its just the fan that is going?

Nope, you can just replace the fan.
