Loved FO3. It was my very first RPG, and I'm hooked.

Can anyone recommend any RPGs, that are out now, that have the following attributes?:

-Futuristic
-Post-apocalyptic (not requirement, but would be nice)
-1st person view not a requirement, but preferred.

I know there are alot of MMORPGs out there, but I'm interested in the single player ones.

I'm also not interested in Fantasy/LOTR-Oblivion types...

Thanks for your help-

Bethesda's open world RPG style is very much their own, and their other stuff (the Elder Scrolls series) has all been fantasy.

Deus Ex is a great suggestion, but even with mods the graphics are obviously dated. The only recent futuristic RPG worth playing is Mass Effect, which is really good but in the very different story-driven Bioware style.

FO3 is fairly unique. I suggest you try out different mods.

If you are willing to go for post apocalyptic shooters w/ rich atmosphere, then STALKER might be your cup of tea.

I have modded up FO3 beyond belief... Still playin', tho.

Good call on Stalker... 'been thinking about picking that one up.

+1 on STALKER

Both Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky were some of the best games I've played. Clear Sky needs some mad hardware to play at full eye candy, but it looks gorgeous.

I've tried to play STALKER on two different systems with three different OS's, and every time I've tried to play it crashes every ten minutes. It's also ugly but runs like crap. Do not recommend.

I played both Stalker games, and it's just as addictive and immersive as FO3. I recommend those as well. With good DX10 HW, Stalker CS looks really good too.

Stalker would've been good but selling items it way too bothersome...you have to be a pack mule to carry crap all the way to a trader. Every zone should have one.

You can mod the game to greatly increase carry weight if you want.

The graphics in Fallout 3 weren't anything special either. Fallout 3 is a sorry excuse for a RPG. You're going to be missing out on some of the greatest games of all time if you care so much about graphics.

I know you mention that you want single player RPG's only BUT.... Fallen Earth is absolutely fantastic!

Pre-ordered it, been playing since a few days before its official release and loving it. It's like Fallout 3 with developers that care about removing bugs from the game, a real RPG element with an open choice system, an odd but interesting storyline (its different, not the typical stuff) and one of the best crafting systems I have ever seen.

If you are remotely interested in Post-Apocalyptic RPG style games in First/Third person (you have a choice with the famous scroll wheel) then I would take a look at Fallen Earth.
