Epson for photo all the way.

HP is better for plain text.

I got an Epson Stylus 880 from Staples. I got two actually. It's an EXTREMELY NICE PRINTER. I printed out a piece of steak and an In-N-Out Double Double on a piece of paper and well... I don't really want to tell you what happened there. Well fine, I licked it. I was HUNGRY!!!!! MAN!!! So don't ever print out delicous food products. It looks very high quality too. Easy to install USB or not. No hassle. Comes with 2 ink cartridges, black and color. Reason I bought it at Staples and why I bought two. If you were at the hot deals forum, you'd see a few posts on the Epson 880 printer and how you could get it for $29+tax. That's $100 off original price. Here's the story. Go to Staples, buy printer at $129. Use $20 off $100 coupon code which comes out to be $109. There's a $30 mail-in rebate which was good for purchases made from up to Aug. 31, yesterday. So that's $79. But there's a $50 price drop on this sunday's Staples circular. And they have a policy that within 14 days, you can find a lower price and they give you the difference. They don't count the coupon because you originally bought it at $129. So... $129-$50=$79. $79-$20 coupon code used in the first place to buy the printer = $59. $59-$30 MIR which is not good anymore from Staples and Epsons website but Epson tells you to use the Staples rebates. So that's $29. Bought two because I could sell one for around $100. Saw an auction end for $100 yesterday. So basically you make $21+$30 rebate and a free printer if you were to sell it off at $100. So you make $51 and you get a free printer. Ta da! Is my math right? Let's start with buying two printers. $130x2=$260-$100 price break=$160-$60 rebates=$100-$100 ebay=$0-$40 coupon codes=-$40. Man I f*cked up somewhere oh well I'm just recommending the printer... I don't even know why and how the F*ck I came up with this two printers Staples crap... JEez ignore me please... Psycho on the loose.

The HP Deskjet 940C is the replacement for the 932C, with a faster print speed. As the 932C's got sold out of the chain, see if you can poach one for cheap as a closeout (say under $100), it's really quite a nice printer, although the Epson is gives it a good run for it's money (i have the HP, g/f has the Epson, so i'm familiar with the results from both from experience). I'd have no problem grabbing either one unless i saw a significant price difference (say one was on sale)...
