I just bought a new Samsung 171V LCD TFT monitor for my wife (Christmas) and now need to upgrade the video card on her computer (PIII 850mhz). It has been some time that I have been in the video card market (I am still using the Original Prophet SE on my computer) and would like to know what a good mid range video card would be in the $75 to $100 price range. Thanks

you might consider an ati all-in-wonder 7500

nice feature is she can have on screen tv as well as decent video - the tv feature is really very nice - you hook your cable tv input up to the video card

I am also interested in a video card that has the best sharpness and color quality. Speed is not a major consideration but video quality is the number 1 consideration. Thanks

How about a RADEON 9000 PRO 128MB? It's in your price range and has vertex and pixel shaders and fully supports DirectX 8.1b. You'll be flabbergasted at the performance improvement over your ancient videocard. Just make sure your mobo supports AGP 4x.:)
