Ya know what just forget about the R6020 just forget about it and making it PCI compliant. It doesn't matter because it's a low end consumer grade router that was never indented to be used how I use it.

SO STARTING FRESH does anyone have a recommendation for a SMB router that offers PCI compliance, is easy to manage, and offers support to help stay compliant? Budget is around $300-400.

Hahaha. You only mentioned your router did not pass PCI compliance test, but did not mention which part at all.

So you asked recommendation then one one can try to make your device to work? Duh.

You are on your own, buddy.

Buy the way, you didn't even reply or say thanks to anyone for your post regarding Google Chrome.

Unfortunately there is no option to disable "Remote Management" in the current firmware provided by Netgear for the R6020. Perhaps there is a cli option to do this?haha "It goes by many names" isn't very specific. Could you maybe elaborate on that? What other names could it go by besides "Remote Management"?

EDIT:After reading through the documentation for the R6020 it appears "Remote Management" maybe called "UPnP" but I won't get to test it until tomorrow when I'm at work.
This just seems crazy guys....this router is obviously meant for a very basic home network not for a SMB that does close to 1.1 million a year in sales.
Can we please just get off the whole idea of using what I have and get to a real recommendation?

I have never seen a router where you cannot disable remote management and upnp.
Also, are you planning to go to wireless cc terminals?

Size and shape of space if considering wifi?

Also, PCI compliance is not a simple yes no. It's all in the settings. Have you updated the firmware?

Or just pick up the fortigate or pfsense or sophos appliance

In your shoes I would use Sophos UTM for simplicity.

Cool, fresh start! There are some fine choices here and the Sophos XG 85 also gets my vote. If you later get audited, you will need the network protection and web protection licenses which is combined about $100 annually. Trust me

Sophos or Fortigate. XG is getting better from Sophos. I still use SG(UTM9), I am not sure if there are commercial versions of PFsense that come with support? Does PFsense also include UTM functions now? If so, that should also be a solid choice.

Pfsense Gold is what you want if you need support. It does have some UTM functionalities but it is not as user friendly as sophos.

This is true but I am a fan of pfsense and have not yet had a chance to put it into production for an office. Never looked into support because I haven't needed it :)

Looking at their pricing it is actually cheaper to buy the sg3100 with 3 year support than buying just the three year support.
