I am looking for an UPCONVERTING DVD player, could U PLEASE give me some recommendations. Nothing overly expensive ($100 MAX). One disc is AOK & would prefer for it to be BLACK.

Oppo's players are pretty popular. There is one player (not sure who made it) that was really well liked as it was reviewed to be almost equal to thousand dollar DVD players.

What is your price? I think with the advent of real HD movies, most upconverting DVD players are under $200.

i <3 the phillips HDMI upconverting player w/ USB and divx. Its like $60 from CC. Good stuff

One thing I find odd is under the audio specs, it says frequency response is 30Hz-20KHz? Seems like to me most players would be able to do 20-20 as thats the assumed range of human hearing. Just thought that was odd.

If it's just passing DD / DTS, that shouldn't matter assuming that's for the analog outputs on the player.

I looked up the manual to the player and it actually shows 4-22kHz for the output for DVD with no mention of a 30Hz limitation anywhere.

Ah, totally forgot about if you were using digital out. I kinda figured it was a typo or incorrect, just thought it would've been a little odd (especially since it also says it has a 24bit DAC).
