Need recommendation on components for building the new system

I have 2K - 2.5K to spend. What's the best can I get out of it.
System is mainly for game and surf the net with occasionally doing CAD works.

1. Minimum: 19 in monitor
2. DVD is not required

1st find the monitor you like, that could be the most expensive part and likely the thing you will keep the longest.

2nd get a good case with 300watt or so power supply.

3rd big decision Intel or AMD
