I don't think this is the right forum for a question like that - did you mix up "distributed computing" and "peer to peer" ?

Anyway, I use Shareaza, but then again, I'm not a big leecher, maybe 50 MB per month.

thanks BMC, sorry about the posting, not sure where to post this one in fact. Anyhow I only need one to share like 200k word files etc with my buddy noting major. 10MB/mo. is probably more than I need.

What you're talking about isn't actually P2P sharing, but more something like a priivate network. These files are just for your buddy and for yourself? Then Shareaza won't do you any good, 'cause it'll share the files with the world!

Maybe something like DC++ is more what you're looking for.

If all you want to do is share with a buddy look at xampp.

It lets you run an apache server with php perl and mysql as well as ftp etc.

its a simple install process and you can configure it for what ever you want

for 200k though just email it to him

gmail and lycos can handle that
