I heard you can upgrade mobile CPU fairly easily w/ newer design notebook.

Is it true?

Also, if anyone tried it w/ Sony SR series before? (SR33 for that matter) thanks.
 
Some notebooks are upgradeable, unfortunately notebook processors tend to be rather expensive and the majority of laptops don't offer much in the way of potential upgradeability.

As mobile PIII 750 is cost less than $130, it seems like a great idea to upgrade...say from Celeron 600. 😉

I also know that SR27 (PIII750) share same mobo w/ SR33(C600) and cost about $800 more.

I really wish someone can give me a direction...
 
The sr series of laptops cannot be upgraded, I have tried. They have the cpu soldered to the mobo, and it would be very difficult to replace
 
yes, I went from a celery 500 to a P3 600 to a P3 700 to a P3 750 and will be going (hopefully) to a P3 800.
