Sorry to hand it to you, but you need to parition the drive from the Windows NT fdisk menu. If you are planning on installing windows 2000, simply go through setup, installing your raid driver (if not automatically detected by windows), and then select the unused partition space and then select the option to create the partition, select the maximum size and then format it and install. Hope all goes well for you.

When you create the array, does it show both HDD's used?

The Win 2K cd is bootable, and you may partition and format during setup.

You need to hit F6 at the very beginning when the first blue screen comes up....you will see it prompt your for roughly 5 sec. It will continue one for a minute then ask you to hit "S" to define mass storage, at which point in time you insert the floppy disk with the raid drivers. Choose the proper driver, hit enter, then enter to continue.

Once you load windows 2000 setup (dos section) you will see on the first blue screen an option at the very bottom in white that says if you have any 3rd party SCSI or RAID controller hit F6, at this point hit F6 ONLY ONCE, as it will give you problems if you hit it multiple times. Anyway hit F6 to select the disk drive and hit S once prompted to.

Keep trying then because that option is definitely there. At the very beginning when you have to hit a key to boot from the cd, it will say "please wait while windows....blah blah" and then move on the the setup screen. At the very bottom of your screen, look for it to tell you to hit F6. Keep trying and eventually you will see it.

Its because your using a old version of Fdisk that does not support over 64 gig. You can download a version that works here. Read the text file that comes with it, you will have to change a config file so it acts properly for what you want to do. On a side note, the reason why it showed up as 13gig is because this problem causes it to show whats left after the 64 gig. In your case 13 +64 = 77 gig.

This site is for Abit boards but they really help with raid setup.

If you want multiple partitions, set partition size by percentage, not by MB 's. It will show each partiton and their individual sizes correctly. Assuming they are each less than 64 GB in size.
