Need Quick upgrade advice

Ah, well they don't seem to advertise it much.

I'm now considering the 3700+ San Diego (1mb cache) and the ASrock, does that seem like a good idea? I'm curious as to why the 3700+ diego only comes clocked at 2.2 ghz, arent the 3200+ supposed to be 2.2?

Any drawbacks or anything with the 3700 San Diego i should know about? I'm about burned out on this research cramming session, I hope i can find something to buy tonight.

Consider the Venice 3200 and 3500, the San Diego 3700, the Opteron, and the X2 3800. They get a little better as you go, and have a better likelihood of overclocking very well, but whether they are worth the extra cost is a matter of opinion. Folks have good luck overclocking most 3200s. Buy the one you can afford; most of them will easily overclock to 2.4 or better, and the difference between them in gaming performance will hardly be significant. The X2 will feel smoother if you run multiple apps, and will be superior eventually when programs designed for dual core are common. I love my Venice 3500, running at 2.5 GHz, still quiet and cool. Spend more to improve your chances if you want max overclock.

Now I'm between the 3700+ San Diego and the 3500+ Venice, not quite sure what the difference is, any big differences there? I know the San Diego has 1MB cache, which would be nice, but it's $35 more than the Venice. Still looking for any advice, thanks

I've just looked on that chart provided by ribbon 13 and see that 3700+ has two frequencies, 2.2 and 2.4. They both have 1MB cache, but 2.2 is socket 939, while 2.4 is 754.
If I'm not mistaken, AMD will be discontinuing socket 754. So, since you are looking for 939 cpu, go with 3700+ @ 2.2
