need quick help with hard drive detection

Hey everyone, i've got a quick question. It's for a friend of mine who's having a little trouble installing a second hd. The problem is that the computer detects the hd, but it doesn't display it. When he clicks on my computer, it doesn't appear, but it does appear in device manager. Does he need to change something in his bios? all the jumpers are set correctly i think. main one has no jumper, newer one is set on slave.

Well here i go is it partition right. B/c you can partition as a logical or primary? in Partition Magic you can have it hidden or not. Most likly he havnet formated the drive yet w/ ntfs or fat32 if windows.
