Ok, I have a HPLaserJet 4050 here at work, and I just changed the IP structure and now everything is on a different IP, now no one can print through that printer because the printer is on the old IP, so how can I change the IP on that printer???

There should be a utility that came with the printer to assign a name and ip address. Have you checked the cd that came with it?

It's called jetadmin if I'm correct...

You can't change the IP on the front panel? You can with the Lexmarks.

Unless you have routing setup for that old IP address range, you're not going to be able to get to it over the network. Do you have a DHCP sever on your network? If so, and you've got the internal jetdirect card, then go through the front panel setup and set the printer to DHCP. Shut off the restart the printer and it will be accessible from JetAdmin again and you can then set the static address.

If not, then you're going to have to take one workstation, move it back to the old IP address range, install the JetAdmin software on that machine, set the ip on the printer, then move the workstation back to the new addres range.

It worked, I just turned it off, and then on again and it just took an IP from the DHCP server, dont know why, but hey, it did🙂 Now I see it in the JetAdmin and then could change the IP.

😀
