Need quick answers: Apple failing itself

How is apple failing itself these days(or since the days of steve jobs), I'm writing a research paper on Apple for my business class.

My main thoughts were although they don't have an official company goal/mission statement they are not producing quality products and innovating/making the market better, they're just stifling it. That's what I'm going with but if you have better ideas feel free to shoot them.

I need something investors or consumers would easily notice, have they been having any kinds of problems?

Need to be done with this in 30 minutes

I think writing a "research paper" in 30 minutes for a business class using ATOT for your inspiration sounds like "failing it"

Apple continues to steal ideas from others, then, get somebody else to build the products, and then, to charge a HUGE margin selling it.

They are even worse then the likes of Samsung.

I suggest gaining some inspiration from reading "Planes, Trains, and Plantains" (Google it). That's about as good as you're gonna get if you've got 30 minutes.

Apple coulda had class. Apple coulda been a contender. Apple coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what Apple am, let's face it.

Apple is shady as fuck. thats just my opinion.

YES SUPER SHADY! Soshady in fact they're making iOS 9 to where it will be able to run well on my old ass iPhone 4. GOD DAMN Apple for supporting devices coming up on 5 generations old!

all fine and dandy to you...but it fucks up my jailbreak.

apple's future is locking people into the 'apple ecosystem'

for that to work, they need as many people locked in as possible

the number one obstacle to that goal is their lack of a low-end device

by conceding the low-end, they're going to allow 'good enough' competitors to come and eventually gobble up their marketshare and the value of any apple ecosystem

The only thing I see they did wrong was fail to listen to the market. When people were clamoring for larger phones with more features, apple stuck to their tiny, intentionally limited phones. That gave other phone manufacturers a lot of niches to exploit mercilessly. Now android is firmly entrenched and it's user experience has all but caught up to that of iOS. Simply put, they can't throw shit at the wall to see what will stick like android manufacturers have from the beginning because that's not how they do things, yet through many iterations of shit throwing it seems a lot has stuck.

It's 5 years old, that's it. Damn well better support 5 year old hardware from an OS.

Imagine MS bragging about supporting 5 year old processors.

They could have 75% of the market easily. They havn't done anything useful since jobs passed. Wouldn't be surprised if they had the ability to become pretty close to a monopoly.

Says you. *shrug*

They make an absurd amount of money because they sell overpriced hardware and services to people who can afford it. They don't WANT to own 75% of the market - any market. There are many different definitions of success.

Consider a career in retail.

The iPhone used to have a 3 year technology advantage on its competitors. Now it's struggling to keep up with Android.

Oh, and Apple TV still sucks.

You're being sarcastic right? I've owned mobile devices using every OS from Symbian to Blackberry to WM. NEVER had a device 5 years old still that still got updates. Hell I've had Android phones that weren't even a year old that stopped getting updates. So yeah, iOS 9 running on iPad 2's & iPhone 4's is a damn impressive thing.

Meh. Apple just hit the wall first. There's only so much crap you can cram in there. Mobile CPUs aren't as blink-and-you're-obsolete either.

As dave_the_nerd pointed out, they are not failing, not by a longshot. Too much time has passed to meet your deadline, but I would have told you to either change the name in your title to AMD, or do a 180 on the take (still succeeding).

Hmm, you got iPhon4 and current is iPhone6. I can't count Apple-maths but 6 minus 4 is two, not five. They just fooled you into thinking its five generations old. You are their most cherished customer.
