I ahve an old quantum badboy that I want to use, but in the past, the only program that would access it was Microsoft backup/ windows management console.

no, even if you could, just think if you were at the start of the tape and needed a chunk that was at the end of the tape..

hmm.....I guess I could just use MS backup for it though.....I am jsut archiving some old TV shows (3GB each)...and yes I recorded them, and no, I am not sharing or doing anything illegeal with them.

I jsut ran out of space, and have like 10 30GB cartridges just sitting there

I vaguely recall a program from the mid 90s that would allow you to do this. Probably DOS based though.

Because you have to wind the tape to where the data is stored, it would not work very well as a hard drive.
