Hi,

I've ALWAYS wanted a DSLR. My wife knew this, and she was at Wal-mart and in the camera closeouts she saw a Sony Alpha DSLR A200 - and got it for 250$. It is sitting here - I'm in a state of shock 😛

Any reason not to keep this camera?

I still have to get a card for it as it does not use a SD card. . . so I have some thinking time. . .

$250 for an A200!!! damn. did it come with a lens (the 18-70mm)?

keep it. its image quality will far outclass any $250 compact camera you will ever own. and get a 4GB or 8GB CF card, they're cheap.

Yes, it came with the 18-70.

There are 3 more sitting here. You might want to check the photo center of your local Wally-World.

I would've jumped on it if I didn't just get an XSi body for $350.

I just hate I'm such a cheapskate. I can't find a CF card around here for less than 39$. So I'm going to order it online instead. I really want to start shooting >P

$250 for an A200 with 18-70mm kit lens is 50% off MSRP! That's practically unheard of for a current-generation camera. Congratulate your wife on the deal she found.
