Need printer recommendation ASAP

I need a recommendationon a good all around printer for a college student to use. It must work flawlessly with Vista (the one she has now does not) and be in a average to low price range. Thanks in advance

Recently got an HP all in 1 for ~100 that didn't include the usb cable. In other words, if it says HP, look elsewhere.

That's pretty much standard in all cheap printers. It's one of the ways they cut costs.

I thought most printers don't include cables? 😕

I would suggest one of the cheap black&white Samsung laser printers. You can find those for $50-80 on sale oftentimes. Mine is around 6 years old, but works fine under Vista. It is a Samsung ML1710 or something, though obviously you'd want a current model.

well not only did it not include the cable but it mentioned "the usb cable" all over the instructions. It never said the included usb cable though. That's pretty shady business tactics imo.

Actually I just bought a Saturn and it has half a tank in it off the getgo. http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2274017&enterthread=y

Anyone and their mother knows a car needs fuel to go, but I bet there are a lot of confused buyers out there looking for a usb cable to fit their brand new printer. Hell, I know what I'm doing, and I still wasted 5 minutes reading the manuals and trying to convince myself that it must have come with a cable.

I'd almost guarantee that right on the outside of the box, it notes that a USB cable is not included.
