1000w is huge overkill even considering your future upgrades, and I wouldn't buy a cooler master PSU anyway.

Something along the lines of a Corsair TX650, TX750, TX 850, or a PCP&C 750w, OCZ 700w, etc... all would power your system easily

The Enhance built Coolermaster Real Power Pros above 750W are MUCH better than the FSP and Sirtec made OCZ 700W power supplies....so are the Acbel made Real Power Pros 750W and below.

Kay.

Remove the OCZ from consideration then. The Corsair or PCP&C units would still be better than spending an extra $100 you don't need to

that psu is fine. like others said: go with corsair. good psu's with great efficiency (which really counts in the end). enermax 850 is good to. i had that CM 690 case. it's a good case but with all the stuff you're putting into it, there won't be much room for water cooling unless you get a really small kit. i'd switch to a full tower.

Even if you upgrade to Q9650,it's still only considered a mid-end system since i7 is out, anyways with your 4870 1GB Corsair 750TX is more than enough,Im using it with a GTX 260 overclocked and running my i7 at 3.8 Ghz without a single flaw 🙂

Hi videogames101, yh125d, HOOfan 1,

i really appreciate for your very kind suggestions for buying the psu...i have alredy bought cooler master real power pro 1000 watts...as i didnt knew much about how to go for a power supply...now i am really confused about should i buy another cooler master real power pro 750watts (as only cooler master available in my area no ther brands..really thinking about cooler master bad psu reputation whether cm real power pro 750 or 1000watts...) and sell cooler master real power pro 1000watts...also i dont know why everybody keep on telling everywhere that 1kw psu is way too overkill...i would simply like to invest more in a psu rather than wasting 1/3rd money on having flashy looking expensive cabinet...also according to eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite v2.5 they say that....
"Electrolytic capacitor aging. When used heavily or over an extended period of time (1+ years) a power supply will slowly lose some of its initial wattage capacity. We recommend you add 10-20% if you plan to keep your PSU for more than 1 year, or 20-30% for 24/7 usage and 1+ years."
recomended psu wattage was 711watts + 30% is 925watts thats why i decided on coolermaster real power pro 1000watts...
now what do you say guys...

If you've already bought the 1000w Cooler Master then you should probably just keep it.

Highly rated by the guys over at Hardocp - Link

PSU forum mod jonnyguru liked it too - Link

Cooler Master PSU's don't have a bad reputation, just not really as high as Corsair or some other companies

Power supply calculators are notorious for horrible wattage recommendations. It's not at all uncommon to see a calculator recommend a 750w PSU for a system that doesn't use more than 300w loaded.

1000w is still way overkill. a quality 650w or higher PSU is really all you need, even considering your overclocking, PSU aging, and future upgrades. Since Cooler Master you say is all that's available in your area, yeah I'd say to return it for the 750w unit to save the cash. You definitely wouldn't be hurting for power with it in your rig instead

It is up to you. There certainly is no harm in using the 1000W...and it is of better quality than the 750W...but you can't go wrong with the 750W Real Power Pro either.

Overkill does not necessarily mean that it is the wrong choice.
