Need Power Supply Advice

I have just had a computer built with the following specifications. In reading about the importance of the Power Supply, I am concerned with my choice...Xion 700 watt. I do not do heavy gaming, no crosfire. I do not want to gamble all my other components on an inferior Power Supply. I would like some advice on whether this Power Supply is adequate for my system or should I go to the expense of changing it out to a higher quality PSU. If so, what brand and wattage should I use. I would appreciate any good advice I could get.

Hey bud, I am not sure about that particular power supply so if you already have it then wait for someone to confirm whether it is good.

Otherwise for recommendations, I would highly recommend the antec truepower new 750. It is a really good PSU that is built by Seasonic. It is also semi-modular (basically has the wires you will need anways already attached).

If you don't like Antec, then you can go with Corsair HX650 or HX750 which are also built by Seasonic. The Antec will cost you less while performing the same though. The difference is in warranty. Antec has 5 year and Corsair has 7 years.

The Corsair HX750/HX850 is made by CWT, and it's a beast. Not that it matters too much, all the HX models are great units.

Thanks for the advice. I am leaning toward pulling the Xion PSU & replacing it with the Corsair HX750. I just did not put too much thought into the PSU when I had it built & I think I now have a top notch system with a very cheap power supply!!

The Corsair HX750 is only $125.00 w/ free shipping after 15% Bing cashback right now. Pretty good deal if you're leaning towards that particular PSU.

Click here first: http://www.bing.com/search?q=laptop&go=&form=QBRE&qs=n&sc=8-6]

Then click the 2nd link down where it says "15% Cashback on all Laptops" through Tigerdirect.com

Then type in "HX750" on the TigerDirect search bar and it'll display $149.99 with $24.00 cashback.

:)

The HX750 is a seasonic M12D platform, the TP-750 is a modified version of the M12D. Performance difference between them is very small, buy whichever you can get cheaper imo.

Thanks for all the advice. One more question...Won't the Corsair HX650 watt PSU be plenty ample for the above listed specs?? I can get it @ Newegg for $109.00 compared to $139.00 for the HX750. I do not anticipate any future upgrading of this system.

Whast model of Xion was it? Did it have the voltage selector switch?

Most Xion PSUs are made by Superflower and are maybe even below mediocre...but they are not hunks of crap and ticking time bombs like Powmax and Solytech...you likely would have been ok, as your current setup shouldn't draw even half of the Xion's rated output.

Of course the Corsair you bought is a much better and more efficient power supply.

All corsair power supplies are CWT now, the last seasonic was the 400W after the HX620 and 520. Never mind, seen someone had said that.
