Anybody know how to remove or change the behavior of comands like window.open or onUnload in IE. Customizing these would put an instant stop to all popups but allow all wanted windows to load normaly.

Thanks
Crazybrowser already did that I think (it's an extension of IE).

I'll try crazy browser but I realy like IE and I realy hate tabed browsing, hope crazy has a non-tabed option. And how close is it to IE? Trier MYIE and it messed up my favorites order as well as the auto addressbar addresses. Not worth it if messes with my settings or apperance. I'm still looking for a way to modify IE so I know exactly what is different. It would be so nice it there was and opensourse browser exactly like IE but alowed you to do any changes you wanted.

Didn't take long, Tried it. It's tabbed only, and slower then IE when loading tabbed or a new browser. I am so happy it had no effect on my favorites or address bar. But I found out it deleted my history before the past week so lets just say I whould be world famaous for my anger management right now. View is pretty bad and cannot be customized like in IE or even MyIE. And lastly the poppup filter is site by site meaning you need to enter the site were you want it to block popups. Please, no more browser suggestions. Only a possible way to actualy change javascript handling in IE.

Much more serious, the main folders for history remained but all links under them are gone. There may be hope of recovery as at least I know the main site address.

Is there any way to restore lost history entries in IE. This is now an emergency as I had many new scites not in vavorites and I dno't remember enogh to track them down. And also, is there a way to deissable history clearing of any kind. I have seen settings about disabling users from clearing favorites but not history.

Thank You

I've done my research on this and found a few applications that work great. The one I use now is open source, blocks popups and will block most ads. It is called Privoxy

It basically is a proxy port for surfing. It will help block ads, stop popups and help contain some of your privacy. Get it, install it and hit any of your favorite popup sites to see they no longer are annoying.

Also blocks banner ads, flashing ads, flash and all other types of annoyances. I've heard that Ad-aware is licensing code from Proxomitron developers.

Hello to all first day post on this forum............

When I saw this thread I wondered how many programs would be mentioned before my friend proxomitron came up.I started using it about a month ago and it's bloody great. There is a particular way to set it up (Use a proxy server for your LAN) but when this is completed your away........

you dont have to use tabs in mozilla. in fact, the default settings are strongly not-tab-oriented (I love tabs).

Ive been using this program called Ultimate Popup Killer that I found on ZDNet, it was pretty crappy. It would sometimes not allow IE windows to open when i right click a link and say 'Open in New Window'. It also prevented certain downloads from beginning.

Im now checkin out this Pop-Up Stopper, looks pretty damn good! Time for some good ol' surfin :)
