Hey. I have a back up machine with a MSI socket 939 kn8-sli motherboard.

I was going to update things and give it to a kid. I noticed though the plastic piece that hold down the CPU heat-sink was cracked and not holding the heat-sink down tight. The two prongs on one side cracked right off. (old I guess)

Anyway it is a pretty good machine and for its time was bleeding edge.

I want the plastic piece to replace on the mother board so I can put a CPU heat-sink back on it.

What is that thing called and where can I get one?

PS tried running it without a CPU heat sink for a minute and it automatically turned off to thermally protect the CPU. Burned my hand it was so hot! lol o_O

google AMD 939 retention bracket. It's a $9-12 part. I had to buy one a few years back too.
