Need PC133 ram in an Athlon system?

I have a Tbird 750 on a KT7-RAID motherboard with 128MB Crucial PC133 Cas 2 ram. I would like to get more ram, up to 256 (perhaps even 384), but I would like to save some money.

I plan on overclocking with the FSB a little (I am doing it now since I haven't unlocked the chip). Do I need PC133 or can I just go with PC100. Since I already have PC133, will I have any compatability issues?

All you need is PC100, AMD CPU is 200Mhz / 2 = 100FSB. So it transmit 100FSB @ rising & falling edge of the wave.. if you use PC133, it'll be 266. But only the newer AMD supports 133/266 so all u need is 133 but if you plan to upgrade, just get 133 since it's only a bit more and you won't have to worry..

Well since you have a board already I guess you know it supports both pc-100 and pc-133? As cheap as ram is right now I would go ahead and get another stick of pc-133 and if you plan on overclocking the fsb a little you can even get a stick of pc-150 for like $90 from www.mwave.com.

There shouldn't be any compatabilty problems running pc-133 and pc-100 but you would have to run it all at 100mhz unless you get lucky and get good pc-100 that can handle 133mhz. Ram follows the weakest link formula if you have 2 sticks of pc-150 and one stick of pc-66 the max speed of all the ram is determined by the pc-66.
