Just got my hand on this new awsome board. After reading from many of the post I finaly decided to get 2 set of this mb and cpu. Now Since this will be my first pentium system that I build, I hope to get some advise from all of you master overclockers out there. I aslo got 2 corsair XMS pc3000 ddr (256mb). I was just reading the manual and then research some more on this forum, but I cannot find any detail info on overclocking this babies, and I also have a few question. Is there a way where you can lock the pci and agp speed so that it will stay at their original speed when you overclock the memory and CPU ? I am worried about this, because one of this pc is going to be my gf, and she want to use her old ati aiw 128 (16mb). What speed can I expect when overclocking this badboys if stability is my main concern. My computer is going to be a server, and hers is going to be a video editing computer and that what she does, and she got pissoff whenever her computer crash.... =( ....
Maybe all of you who has been success can share your configuration right now or gimme some tips what I will need to overclock this badboys.
I cant seem to understant the CPU/Memory Frequency, can somebody please explain what does the numbers mean??
here are the list of parts that I use ;

My computer:
(1) P4S333
(1) Corsair XMS3000
(1) Compaq NC3134 NIC
(1) Geforce2 GTS 32mb DDR
(1) IBM drive

GF computer:
(1) P4S333
(1) Corsair XMS3000
(1) Intel pro management
(1) All In wonder 128 16mb
(2) IBM Drive

all that and offcourse some a dvd drive and cdr on all computer.
Well, I am going to start putting this together now, and I will check this forum as soon as I am done.

Thank you........... =)

you got some great hardware there, its gonna be a piece of cake....

1) update bios to 1005 or better. (dos flash)

2) set it up as a 1600mhz / 3:5 memory to start.
once youre sure that everything is running fine....

3) change the front side bus to 133mhz and the memory to 4:5.
you might need a voltage increase (0.025v at a time) if it crashes during use at that speed.
once youre sure that everything is running fine ...try for 140fsb 4:5 mem. then 145fsb, etc etc...

if youve overclocked AMDs before - you are gonna be in for a pleasant surprise 😀
you should have no problem getting to 133-145fsb. 150 or higher is gonna take some luck tho 😉
make sure you use some Arctic Silver 2 or 3 on the chip.

🙂

hey yo, i'm up and kickin with this motha, and i gotta say its been great to me... i'm at 151 fsb, --> 2.42 ghz! i've got 512 meg samsung pc2700 at a 4:3 mem speed, which you set in your bios. stock hs and fan, with arctic silver 3. temps don't really get that bad for the gaming i use it for. Real happy w/ this board and chip... 😀

nice!

you mean the memory is using a 3:4 ratio right? (201fsb)
4:3 would give you 101fsb 🙁
(FSB:MEM)

where did you get your chip?

🙂

I was asked to upgrade a computer at work and chose this mobo, proc combo. I probably won't get a chance to OC it though because it's not mine. :frown:

Don't know if this is good for mediocre GIS appz, but I guess I will find out.
