Need Opinions on Logos

I'm working on a website and I had a decent logo, but it was done unprofessionally, was not vector, and I only had a small version of it.

I launched a contest on 99designs.. Can you guys/gals check out some of the entries and let me know which one you like best?

EDIT:

Contest is over. Please let me know your final thoughts. Had a few more entries on the final days.

I suggest avoiding the logos with the refelction; it won't work well on printed materials, since it may not look as good on paper as it does on screen.

Also, if it ends up being on a promotional item (shirts, pens, etc), it may look like ass as well.

If I had to pick, I'd go with #7. At least you know the design can work with different color schemes/backgrounds.

6 or 7 with no reflection, probably remove the glare effect from the text as well. would also consider changing the black slash on 7 to matching blue?

Keep going ... i've seen much better work on 99designs.

I plan to do this in 2 phases.

I could only afford the cheapest contest($298) and there are a lot of contests.

I just need to get one that's decently polished up.

Once I can actually launch an attractive contest ($900+) prize, I will expect more out of 99designs.

Why would you pay $298 for that logo? It's barely any different from the one on the website now, and it would take about 5 minutes to make one that looks just like that one.

As a way of putting my toes in the water, I guess you could say.

I needed some comparative variations, as well as confirmation as to how acceptable our current logo was.

I'd have to agree with this. I've participated in a few 99designs contests as a way to try and earn some extra cash or get some more practice. Once I realized that the contest holders pick the shittiest design 9/10 times I gave up. People on there produce shit for two reasons: 1) They know that the people holding the contest wouldn't know good design if it hit them in the face; 2) Because of #1, the bar isn't too high and people know that they can get away with half-assing work because the client is too cheap to hire a real designer. I'm not saying that 99designs is a complete waste... in fact, in the OP's situation it's probably perfect. Just bear in mind that you generally get what you pay for.

I knew it was kind of a waste, but I wanted to test the water with what I came up on my own versus what a cheap contest would hold.

But they haven't really designed anything new. They took exactly what you have now, and added some color, changed the typeface, etc. They did NOTHING and one of them will be laughing their ass off all the way to the bank at your expense.

hahaha didn't realize these were all based on one he already made. seriously ya keep the one you have and save $300. those puds really didn't add anything.
