Need opinions and Ladies, what should he do instead?

alright, on my floor, there is a guy who is bringing a girl to the formal dance at our college. She is driving from Iowa State to Western IL to come here. Staying 2 nights then leaving. The dance is on a friday night. What he is having us do is set up a dessert type dish in his room while they are gone, with brownies, flowers, and candle light. (Yes, he is trying to get laid.) When he is walking back from the dance to the dorm with her, he will pull out a walkie talkie and say "i got a special lady coming up, so make sure everything is ready."

I sh!t you not, he will say that. I'm wondering if this is a good idea or not. I dont think so, but i want your opinions.

tell him if he has any brains he will get a nice hotel room (not some dump) for her to stay at..if she feels like it, she will ask him to stay...

staying in a dorm room is tacky
a "dessert tray" with brownies is tacky
the walkie-talkie fits right in with the tacky theme

this guy needs to get a little classier if he wants to go there.

The guy is trying way too hard here. Unless it's some kind of inside joke he has with the girl that you don't know about, he's toast.
