hi everyone. i need your help! Does anyone know anything about this card? It seems like a good deal:

MSI RX1800XL-VT2D512E Radeon X1800 XL PCI Express 512MB DDR3 Video Card w/Dual DVI, VIVO & HDTV-Out Retail

It's got 512MB DDR3 for 220 on zip zoom. Her'es the link: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=321997&ps=ho6

What do you guys think? Or do you suggest anything around 220 that could be better? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

If you're willing to spend about $30-50 more you could get an X1800XT, or a 7900gt for that matter.

Here's an MSI one for $270 after rebate. click

If you absolutely cannot spend more then yes the X1800XL is a great card. I myself have one and have it overclocked to faster than a stock X1800XT, although my card is only 256mb.

What are the rest of your computer specs anyway?? And what monitor do you use?? If you don't go over 1280x1024 then I don't think you need a 512mb card anyway, then you can just go for a cheaper X1800XT with 256mb of ram and you'll get faster performance than the X1800xl. Here's a link to a cheaper X1800XT click

It would be helpful to others if you give more info on what games and such you plan to play with the card, as well as your other computer specs...as well as whether you're looking for outright performance or cool running or quiet or whatever. So please do.

That's actually a gr8 deal...but i'm pretty sure this smokes the x1800xl but unfortuantly the rebate jsut expired... it used to be $225 shipped! I should have bought one a week ago. Still a decent deal. I'll check around for prices.

it probably will give you a marginal increase at best, but the 512mb version is almost $60 more at $300.

Unless you plan to overclock that XL to the limits, I'd strongly suggest a x1800xt instead. The 512mb of mem on the x1800xl will not be nearly as beneficial as the extra 150mhz core clocks on the x1800xt.

Actually 512mb isn't that overrated if you run a big screen and high resolutions.

To your card the MSi X1800 XL 512mb Version, this is a bioslocked XT. The card comes comes with 1.2ns and runs easy 700/800 (1600) if you give it the right Voltage. For 220 Dollar that card somewhat kicks ass...
