I'd like to build a small desktop for older games from the late 90's to early new millennium. I don't really remember what I had back then, so correct me if I am wrong. I would like a pentium 3 and a voodoo card but apart from that I'm not sure what I need or where to get it. A few quick searches in the FS/T section here didn't reveal much. Thanks for any recommendations.

A Soundblaster or Aureal card might be good, onboard sound wasn't great back in the P3 era. A getforce4 ti 4200 would be good if you can't find a voodoo. Win98SE was the best OS, stay away from WinME.

It's probably easier to see if you can post a Wanted thread in fs/t for an entire computer than trying to assemble all the pieces. Unless you want to go through the building process for fun, I suppose.

You'd need some sd ram. I believe there's a logical limit on hard drive size, but a larger one won't hurt, you just wont be able to use all of it's capacity, iirc, just make sure it's IDE.

Again, any cheap optical would work as long as it's IDE.

maybe get both 5.25 and 3.5" floppy drives for loading really old games...so you'd need a chasis where two floppy drives would look good, perhaps.
