Well, I'm planning to go to NY (Manhattan) in December. I was thinking about making a day trip to Boston and was wondering what type of transportations are available besides flying. Is their a tram or train that goes from Manhattan to Boston? How far is it between the two places? Should I rent a car? This is primarily just to sightsee. Look at all the historical monuments and what not.

NOTE: I am from CA. :)

TIA

I took the greyhound bus when I went to Boston last year. It leaves from Penn Station and the ride is about 4 hours.

So how long is the bus/car/train ride? Is this doable or should I just leave Boston for another trip?
