The ones on TUCOWS (at least the freebies) don't seem to like stardard clients, like mIRC. I need to be as standard as possible as I will be connecting different platforms (Sun, HP, Linux, Wintel, SGI) via IRC.

After more snooping, I could swear things read like BitchX is a server as well as a client ... even on Windows. I'll be trying it out tomorrow.

Ended up going with IRCPlus and something called RCC Time Server (I think). Both should be free and run as services on NT4. If I can remember, I'll post links tomorrow from work (to the software; my actual installs are classified so you won't be seeing those 😛).
