Oxidation has taken a toll on my wheels(rims), and they got slow air leaks now. 🙁

I went to Discount Tire, they quoted $400 out the door.
Belle Tire said $300 (a bunch of mumbling so have no clue what he was saying, even after asking him a few times for a 'out the door price') Looks like I might have to make a trip down there to understand what the heck he was saying on the phone.
Sears... haven't checked yet.

Tire Rack, way more expensive, looks like around $500 for cheapest, and then I would still need them installed, so another $80 for that.

Anyone have anything good/bad things to say about either of those stores I have mentioned, or where do you guys get your wheels from?

I am looking for 16", nothing fancy.

I've had good luck with Sams Club, if your a member. A plus is Walmart honors the road hazard, Which increases your chances of find a place to get the tire fixed for free when traveling.

if you looking in terms of pricing, that is very easy but in terms of tire performance thats a whole other level. the tire they are offering you at discount tire might not be the same as belle and on tire rack.

They could give you some cheap no name chinese made tire @ 50 a tire with rather weak sidewalls that puncture after 10k with enough stress on it.

Hmm, perhaps I should clarify, I meant wheels as in rims, not Tires.

AFAIK, they don't have wheels/rims at the Sams Club stores?

Do a search on Craigslist for wheels that came off the same model of car. As a bonus you will probably get tires too.

go to a dealer and ask for new takeoffs, people ditch the new stock wheels all the time for fancy stuff, usually can get them pretty cheap.

If you just want basic steel rims, you should be able to get them cheap.

I paid $50 each for mine at Active Green & Ross. I'm not sure if you guys have those in the US.

If you're getting tires as well, I have had great experience with Michelins, and poor experience with Bridgestones.
